Inclusive Playground
The Platteville inclusive Playground Committee is a 100 percent volunteer group dedicated to bringing an Inclusive Playground to life in Platteville. The PIP committee has partnered with Inspiring Community, Inc. and the City of Platteville on this transformational project.
PIP is incredibly thankful for the monetary commitment of $100,000 from the City of Platteville trust funds (not tax dollars) and a Community Development Block Grant - Corona-virus Grant by the Wisconsin Department of Administration. This is fantastic news and means the playground is well on its way to being fully funded.
It is important to understand that the awarded money will not cover the entire cost of the playground. The PIP committee is continuing to apply for grants and will continue to reach out to individual donors, businesses, service organizations, and the community. Some items not covered by the CBDG-CV grant that still need to be funded include upgrades to the Smith Park Stone Shelter including significant work to create handicapped accessible bathrooms, a covered picnic pavilion and some elements of fencing and signage.
Funding has been raised for the basic plan and additional funds used for additional equipment, future maintenance, and amenities. The committee appreciates all donors who have seen a need in our community and who have responded by investing in this project!

Thank You, Donors!
Inclusion is not bringing people into what already exists; it is making a new space, a better space for everyone
