Cindy Tang Career Opportunity Scholarship

Scholarship for Female Non-Traditional Students

The Cindy Tang Career Opportunity Scholarship is open to women in Grant or Kewaunee Counties in Wisconsin seeking to resume their education or pursue additional education after an interruption of three to five or more years.  Applicants may be continuing or finishing a previously started degree, pursuing a new or different degree, or seeking additional or continuing education or training.  Applicants may apply before resuming their studies or within the first year of enrollment.

Career Opportunity Scholarship awards will be between $1,000 - $5,000 based on applicant's need and qualifications and funds available in the given year.  The scholarship supports coursework towards an associate degree, bachelor's degree, master's degree, PhD., certification program or specialized training  in a technical or professional field.  Coursework must be taken at an accredited two- or four-year college or university, or at a technical school that is fully licensed or accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.  Distance learning programs will be funded only if they are conducted through an institution that is fully licensed or accredited by an agency recognized by the US. Department of Education.  Applications are accepted at any time

Cindy Tang hopes to encourage women to pursue continuing education to further their careers and expand their opportunities.  She understands the challenges faced by non-traditional students, particularly women, when deciding to seek additional education after a time away from school.  Cindy noted, "We hope this scholarship will provide women the financial leg-up they need to further their education.  Too often women delay or do not purse education due to family finances or other competing expenses."
