Valley-To-Eastside Expansion Project
The Project
In September of 2024, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources awarded Platteville Community Arboretum (PCA) a stewardship grant of $136,700 for half of the costs of creating an extension to the David Canny Rountree Branch Trail.
We are asking for your help to raise money for the matching grant to cover the land, appraisals, closing costs, and survey work. With this expansion, we'll have a scenic and peaceful route along the old railroad bed and the option for a trail head.
Please consider making a donation to this project.

A parcel on Valley Road could become a trailhead with parking, gardens, a picnic area, informational kiosks and possibly bathrooms. A mile-long stretch of abandoned railroad bed from Business 151 to Eastside Road would expand the trails in town.
